Have you ever noticed that when sunsets are viewed through the smoke of a fire, they can be their most beautiful. Grass fires this time of year in Oklahoma are prevalent. The dry conditions combined with the wind that comes “sweeping down the plain” can make for a busy and hazardous day for local firefighters.
When the smoke rises in the western sky it serves a a filter for the sun’s evening light. The results can be breathtaking.
I often feel that God’s grace and mercy, when seen through the smoldering ashes of my weakness and failure are at once beautiful and unique. Sometimes that’s the only redeeming value of the pain we have to endure in this life.
Let God’s light shine through the ashes of your life and see His beauty reflected.
